The agents, by themselves
No VS Code window required. Grok Build, Muse Code, Codex and Claude Code in one picker; projects on the left, the conversation in the middle, your files on the right, and text files open to read and edit in place.
Grok Build Desktop (Community) · standalone app
Grok Build Desktop (Community) is a free, unofficial app for Grok Build, Muse Code, Codex and Claude Code, with no terminal or IDE such as VS Code. It runs the vendors' own agents with your own subscriptions. It is the desktop sibling of the AFK Pilot extension (previously Grok Build for VS Code), and it connects to AFK Pilot when you want your phone.

Rather install nothing at all? A Cloud machine runs Grok, Codex, Claude Code and Muse Code on a dedicated VM you reach from a browser, and all four sign in from the browser too — included with Remote Max while it is in preview.
A second way to host
Use the standalone app when you want the agents without an IDE. Add AFK Pilot to pick up the same work from a phone or browser — or skip local installs entirely with a Cloud machine, a separate hosted environment where Grok, Codex, Claude Code and Muse Code come preinstalled and connect from the browser.

This is a community-built host. It is free to download and use, and it is not made or endorsed by SpaceXAI (formerly xAI), Meta, OpenAI or Anthropic.
Connect the app to AFK Pilot, then chat, approve and follow runs from your phone or any modern browser.
Get the app
Your browser picks a sensible default when it can. Every platform stays visible below, so the download never depends on detection.
Checking your operating system…
On macOS, the app is signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple. It opens on first launch — no warning to dismiss, nothing to allow through in Settings.
On Windows, the installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” the first time: click More info, then Run anyway. A certificate is on the way.
On Linux, the download is a single AppImage — nothing to install. Make it executable and run it:chmod +x Grok-Build-Desktop-*.AppImage && ./Grok-Build-Desktop-*.AppImage
It needs FUSE, which most desktops already have; on Debian and Ubuntu that is libfuse2. It updates itself in place from then on. If you run it extracted (no FUSE), replace the file by hand when the app says a new version is out.
The app runs coding agents on your machine. It reads and edits files and runs commands, asking you first unless you turn that off — the same as the VS Code extension. Open projects you trust, and read the source if you want to see exactly what it does.
